Glasscorp

Glasscorp

Glasscorp's main requirement was to delive enhanced service levels & information availability to its clients to improve productivity and competitiveness. They had identified a need to

  • Key staff needed to be able to access their calendars and emails while travelling.
  • Improved client contact by introducing web pricing and ordering, at the same time improving client access to information .
  • Improve our storage capacity and reduce spam.

Kinetics leveraged web technologies to present Glasscorp's clients with up to the minute stock and pricing information.  Migrating from a Novell Netware and Groupwise solution to Windows Server provided a secure and reliable platform conforming to industry standards allowing 3rd party developers to further add value.  Migration challenges including ensuring all data and emails imported into the new environment with no data loss, while keeping system downtime to an absolute minimum - a challenge Kinetics were more than up to.  On the day, thanks to excellent planning and preparation, the migration went flawlessly.

Remote access was critical with sales staff & management needing to work anywhere, anytime.  Windows PDAs allow mobile sales staff to place orders electronically while on the road. Secure email from anywhere in the world is achieved with Exchange using OMA, OWA and "RPC over HTTPS for Vista/XP laptops with Outlook 2003/2007" giving Glasscorp the best choice of tool for their needs at any time.  RWW was implemented for desktop access.

Kinetics design has met not just today's needs but also laid the foundations for tomorrow's requirements to be achieved.

Glasscorp's Heather Law says "The advantages for Glasscorp have been immense. Clients now access pricing and place orders  24 hours a day, seven days a week .  There has been a notable reduction in phone based enquires.  Our system management is now automated further reducing onsite attendance by IT support.  With the internal resources these changes have made available Glasscorp has been able to expand our business offshore."
