The impact for MUMA was immediate. They now have a consistent user experience with their email which has allowed them to concentrate on more important things.
Manukau Urban Maori Authority (MUMA) has a 20-year history of community based service delivery to Urban Maori in the South Auckland Region.
It was established in 1986 (as an Incorporated Society) to provide education and training to the Maori community; to teach and promote cultural, spiritual and political awareness; and to develop enterprises to create employment and an economic base to enhance the wellbeing of Maori in South Auckland.
In 2009 the organisation underwent a major change to its senior management team. The new CEO and executive team brought a strong focus on revenue growth and organisational capacity development. The CFO introduced a strategic view to MUMA’s information technology needs and immediately set about establishing the organisation’s minimum IT requirements.
MUMA needed reliability, access and availability in their IT systems. They had no backup, no contingency and experienced inconsistency with their hosted Exchange service. As an agent for social change, MUMA wanted technology to be an invisible enabler, allowing staff to focus on their core business of service delivery.
At Kinetics Group’s recommendation, MUMA agreed to move their hosted Exchange to Microsoft Online Services. The impact for MUMA was immediate. They now have a consistent user experience with their email which has allowed them to concentrate on more important things.
“What we have is someone we know who can help us with our future needs. Having a reliable and trusted IT supplier means the organisation is ready to deploy any new technology it needs on an as-required basis. We also have a partner capable of keeping us informed on new technologies and the level of performance we are achieving from our existing investments in IT”.
Wyn Osborne, MUMA CFO
