Sharing Shed shops have clean modern fit outs with plenty of parking close to their shops. This ensures absolute safety and convenience for their clients. The shops have playstations to keep the kids entertained and the daily paper just in case you do have to wait for a haircut. John Newman, Director of the Sharing Shed, was looking for an I.T. company to help him set up his office and the shop tills.  His accountant recommended Kinetics Group. The Sharing Shed had an aging point-of-sale system written some years ago using VB6 as a front-end and Jet (Microsoft Access) as a back-end. The program works only for a single branch, that is, it has no knowledge of what branch it belongs to. Collation of the information from the various branches was a manual process. As part of an ongoing plan to move the business forward, they chose to implement AccPac as their centralized accounting system, based on SQL Server. This required that the data from the branches be automatically collected and merged. Kinetics installed a new SBS Server and implemented a robust backup system. This system is fully documented and new shop PC set ups reasonable automated. Standardising all the shops has added value to John’s business strategy.
