As a small NZ businesses taking on the world, Sistema needed reliable IT systems, easily managed with minimal overhead, that provided the control and flexibility to give them a competitive advantage.
The goal was to allow the IT infrastructure to be easily managed from Auckland, while giving a rich solution to the international offices, uncompromised by their remote characteristics. With a head office in Auckand’s industrial Onehunga, Sistema has experienced outages beyond their control including internet and power failure over recent months and even two major fires that shut off access to their street.
Sistema needed to ensure these vulnerabilities would have no impact on the offshore business units and at all times, they’d be better able to provide the very best service to their clients.
Geri Toa, Financial Controller “We view Kinetics not as a service provider but as a part of our company. Rather than merely working for us they worked with us to design a network that has given us back control of our IT operational costs and improved performance”

Deploying a cost effective solution on the other side of the globe presented a new set of challenges. Local UK suppliers had quoted ridiculous sums, many tens of thousands of pounds for a small network. But Kinetics had a plan. Using Microsoft Online Services, Kinetics extended Sistema’s SBS network with hosted Exchange, SharePoint and Live Meeting providing a rich collaborative environment that allows Sistema to securely share corporate data.
The solution worked well. With a Kinetics KARE proactive support contract in place, Sistema rest easy knowing their servers are being well maintained and up to date. The UK office have access to the information they need, wherever and whenever they need it. In fact, it’s gone so well that the solution is being replicated into the Melbourne office.
Geri says “For a small business, working globally presents a number of operational and functional challenges. Kinetics have given us a structure that makes global access to information seamless.”
