Stuck in a bubble

I got stuck in the Xtra!Yahoo bubble without even knowing it this week.

After sympathising with several customers with email troubles the previous week with arguably the country’s largest internet provider I thought the start of a new week would see the problems resolved.  However, I was lucky (or unlucky) enough to find a customer who still was experiencing problems.

The root cause was that bubble would not let through emails which were sent to Xtra addresses from an Xtra customer due to 'spam' reasons. Surely we would expect more from one of our largest providers?

Coupled with a probably unrelated Telecom phone problem I find it very hard to explain to my poor suffering client why things aren’t working.  A whole week down the track, I felt a sense of achievement managing to legitimately resolve the so-called spam problem, but my client is dealing with a week of email hell.

I guess Xtra don’t think email is a very important tool in this world. My client can of course now celebrate with some compensation. All Xtra customers are being credited with 25% of their monthly bill, which should cover the fish and chips this weekend.
