SharePoint is one of the most useful pieces of infrastructure software available today.  It lets businesses create systems and processes to mechanise and automate elements of their procedures.  At Kinetics, we use SharePoint to manage much of our business, including HR, business planning and asset management.

One of the best things about SharePoint is the price.  The free version is, well, it's free.  And thats a great deal.  Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 is available as a free download to install on your Windows server.  There is some logic to this, with a more extensive version "Microsoft Office SharePoint Server" available for a cost, with many more features.

Of course, change takes effort.  They don't happen by themselves.  Someone has to drive them and that's often the problem.  So Kinetics has created a service, "SharePoint Igniter" to help businesses get underway.  This will get a minimum site up and running, and empower our customer's staff to further develop their sites themselves, with guidance from our experts if needed.  It's part of our coaching service.

One of our new templates is a simple sales management tool.  Designed for small business, it offers basic sales management processes and tracking.  Somewhat less than a full CRM, it nevertheless will provide a step in that direction, tracking marketing suspects, sales opportunities and farming schedules.  As they say, "if you can measure it, you can manage it"
