Office2010 NZ Launch 

At last, Office 2010 launches this week.  We’ve been out talking about it, at client meetings, seminars, in our newsletter and in our twitter feeds.   So you’ll know we’re excited by it

We’ve moved all our staff over to Office 2010 sometime ago, and we’ve been enjoying the productivity benefits ever since. 

So what’s making a difference for us?  Here’s the Kinetics top ten list for Office 2010

10. Better Powerpoint transitions and animations, making presentations look so much more professional

9. Customising the ribbon bar so it’s easier to find favourite tools

8. Saving documents, spreadsheets and presentations  straight to Skydrive for sharing outside of the office.

7. Creating video presentations for the web directly from Powerpoint

6. ‘Remove Background’ and similar picture tools to spice up document presentation

5. Previewing appointments in the Outlook inbox

4. Backstage information view, for example highlighting the full document name and path, and the new Print Preview

3. “send as a link” – saves multiple document copies clogging up email inbox/sent items folders

1. New views in Outlook – email conversations and calendar groups in particular

We’ve barely scratched the surface - there are heaps of other great features – mobility, webapps both change the world, and we’ll highlight these separately.  Some new capabilities are more specialised  -  ‘sparklines’ and ‘slicers’ in Excel, (much) larger spreadsheets, or merging SharePoint data straight into documents for easy process automation, screen-grab tools and so much more. 

But the top ten are the ones we use each and every day.
