Thanks to everyone who came to learn about SB2008 at our recent seminar at Microsoft.  We got great feedback and it is very evident that this is hugely relevant to many of our clients, so much so that we have a number of SBS projects either booked or even underway.

Key advantages include better security, better remote access, more capacity and fewer limitations with improved flexibility to help businesses respond to their rapidly changing needs.   Some of the new aspects of SBS2008 that appealed to our clients include the improved active directory, offering more control and security than ever before.

Another new feature is the 'RODC' which allows branch offices to have a 'read-only' domain controller, improving their authentication performance while keeping the network secure and easy to manage.

In general, remote access is much improved.  This ranges from including the latest edition of Windows Sharepoint Services for file and datasharing over the web, to better remote desktop access, and closely integrated mobile email access, particularly for the latest mobile devices.  Web access in general is much improved, with Outlook Web Access even more functional and easy to use.

Another strength is that SBS2008 is built on Windows 2008, and with that comes superor security.  Windows 2008 has been built from the ground-up to be as secure as possible, taking into account current technologies and threat trends.  Old Windows 2003 have gradually become overlaid with 5 years of security updates, and that's a burden that 2008 doesnt need to share.
