e-Day 2009

Clean up New Zealand’s e-waste

Recycling electronic waste (e-waste) enables the recovery and reuse of valuable materials and ensures toxic materials are not buried in our landfills - so it's better for our environment.

eDay is on the 12th of September and Kinetics will be joining other organisations by providing volunteers on the day.  We're asking our friends and clients to get involved,  droping off old computers for recycling or even joining us as volunteers.

eDay is a simple, free and effective way to recycle old computer equipment and mobile phones in an environmentally sustainable way. Last year over 16,550 cars in 31 regions dropped off 87,056 computer related items, diverting 946 tonnes of e-waste from our landfills. This would not have been possible without the help of around 1,000 volunteers on the day.

eDay is a cars-only drive-through recycling event which gives you the opportunity to recycle old computers or mobile phones in an environmentally sustainable way.

eDay is run by the 2020 Community Trust and is being sponsored by NZICT, of which Kinetics is a founding member.  Kinetics staff will be volunteerng to help, and we're hoping some of our clients will participate, either as volunteers or take the opportunity to get rid of old e-waste.
