Will your email etc. still work when you travel?

There’s nothing worse than having to muck around with your 365 access, especially when different time zones are involved.

Currently, the majority of companies have their Microsoft 365 login restricted to NZ and Australian IP addresses.

That’s working well to block the almost constant attempts to hack your accounts from Eastern Europe and other hot-beds of hacker activity.

But if you or one of your colleagues are planning any overseas travel beyond Australia, it will prevent you from accessing your Microsoft tools while you are away.

Staff travelling outside of those areas will not be able to login.

To avoid disruption, we need to allow access before people travel.

The required information is simple:

  1. Name: (email address)
  2. List of countries being visited:
  3. Departure date:
  4. Return date:

As a side note, while many aircraft now support WiFi, we have found that access to Microsoft 365 can be problematic.  My personal experience is that accessing email from the aircraft seems to trigger the need to reset my password.  My advice is to put your email aside for the duration of the flight, and only access non-confidential content.
